We’ll be running a lower section of the Red Deer River. Put in below the Double Ledge rapid. It’s a short 3km run, class 2+ at this flow level (class 3 at regular flows). Keep in mind that this will be a low volume run. In fact if water level will go significantly lower in next days, it could be cancelled as no longer runnable – so check email at Thursday and Friday.
Meet at the Tim Hortons parking loot in Sundre, at 10:00am, once everyone has arrived we will get on the river.

Requirements:

- It’s class 2+ run, you should have a couple days in class 2 environment already, be comfortable doing eddy turns and ferry in moving water. Occasional easy maneuvering around small rocks may be required. If this is not yet the case, please message us and we can discuss further!
- You must be an active 2023 member of Paddle Junkies to sign up
- Bring your own gear – your boat, PFD, helmet, spray skirt and paddle. Float bags are greatly appreciated.
- Also, it’s actually required to carry a whistle and rope on each watercraft.
