The weather looks good for Thursday so let’s try one more run from the Ghost dam to the Wildcat Gas Plant. Although the water level’s are down there are still a few worthwhile features. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have a reduced ratio of paddlers to leaders.
Please meet at the Ghost Dam access gate at 5:30 pm where we’ll proceed to drop our equipment and shuttle to the gas plant. This earlier start is to allow sufficient time on the water before dark. Paddlers that can’t make 5:30 can park at the access gate in order that everyone can launch our kayaks down the hill at 6:00 pm. As per AWA guidelines, and in consideration of your fellow paddlers, please bring a dry mask to wear after the run to shuttle.
Ensure that you have all your gear with you including boats, paddles, PFD’s, footwear, helmets, spray skirts, and throw bags. Also note that the put in and take out require hiking down/up from the river.
This is a Class II river section and we require that you have taken an introduction to whitewater course prior to signing up.
