Beat the HEAT ! This is a run for paddlers new to whitewater. We’ll be running a section of the Bow River from the Ghost Dam to the Wild Cat Gas Plant which is Class 1 with a couple of Class 2 features. Join us for a fun evening on the river.
Meet at the TransAlta Ghost Dam put in ( exit at the Cottage Club and drive to the end of the road ) at 5:30pm, we will have the initial shuttle completed and should be able to get on the river promptly.
Requirements:

- You need to have taken an intro to whitewater course or have comparable experience. If this is not yet the case, please message us and we can discuss further!
- You must be an active 2022 member of Paddle Junkies to sign up (if you’re having issues signing up for the event, please ensure that you are signed into the website and have paid your 2022 membership fees. If it still doesn’t work, please message us!)
- Bring your own gear – your boat, PFD, helmet, and paddle. Float bags are greatly appreciated.
- Also, it’s actually required to carry a whistle and rope on each watercraft (see the section on Water Safety Kits in the link), so if you don’t have those yet, consider purchasing them very soon.
